An unidentified African American man sits on a log fence that continues down the stairs as a bannister to what is possibly a lake below with people, through the trees, standing beside the lake. Three unidentified African American women lean against the log fence as the man puts his arms across the shoulders of the two women farthest to the right. Those two women hold straw hats with wide brims and wide hatbands. The woman in the center holds a single lens bellows camera in her right hand.
