Two unidentified African American women in a front lawn with a metal wire fence. The woman on the left crouches down and puts her left arm around the shoulders of the woman on the right. The woman on the right is lying on the ground. Neither woman is smiling. Another woman walks by on the street on the other side of the fence. There are two lawn chairs behind the women. There are houses across the street. The shadow of the photographer is on the ground on the right corner of the photograph.
