An group of six African American women in uniform, on the Marland Estate exterior in Ponca City, Oklahoma, stand in a semi-circle around Thad Tucker, a cook for the Marland family, crouched on the ground holding a cigarette. The women include, left to right, Mayme, Etta, Cornelia, Ethel, Viola, and Lizzie. The women all wear light dresses and either a lace headband or a white cap.
