Fifteen women meet for a celebration

Details
Description
An unidentified group of fifteen African American women sit and stand around one end of a banquet table with a tablecloth at an unidentified venue with a low ceiling during an unidentified event. Seven of the women wear hats. Five of the women wear a corsage of a single rose bud. Seated at the left corner of the table is Bridget. Seated third from the right corner of the photograph is Louise. Louise wears a necklace of several strands of pearls. A woman standing second from the right wears one strand of pearls. The two women seated farthest to the left both wear necklaces of three strands of pearls. All of the women wear earrings. There are opened gifts on the table with a bouquet in the center. Only salt and pepper shakers and glasses of water are on the table with the gifts. The only woman not smiling is the woman farthest to the right. She wears elbow-length dark gloves.

Fire engine of Engine House no. 1

Details
Description
Five African American male fire fighters in their uniforms, pose for a photograph with a fire engine. Two fire fighters sit in the driver's and passenger's seats of the fire engine while two stand along the side and one stands on the back running board just outside the garage door opening to Engine House No. 1. The letters painted on the hood of the fire engine are K.C.F.D. The building behind the fire engine and next door to the fire house has "Wholesale Dickerson Cleaning" painted on the brick wall. An African American man leans on a light post outside the front door of Dickerson Cleaning.

Five well-dressed unidentified African American men are outdoors in front of a window in a brick wall side of a building. The three in back stand and the two in front crouch. Only the two standing to the left smile at the photographer. The other three look seriously off to the left. Note the lapel button holding the chain to the breast pocket and the tie tacks.

The other four stand on the first step looking forward except the one directly to the left of the man in the front. That man is looking down and talking to the man in the front.
