Baton twirlers

Description
African American female baton twirlers perform on the court of the gymnasium of the Western Baptist Seminary, 2119 Tracy Avenue in Kansas City, Missouri. In one line behind the leader with a whistle in her mouth, they each hold the baton above their head with both hands and step forward with their right foot. All wear a light colored t-shirt, a light-colored pleated, thigh-length skirt, and mid-calf, light color boots with tassels on the front. Behind the girls, under the basketball basket, an African American man and woman sit in upholstered chairs and wear large corsages. The woman has a crown on her head. The man is wearing a fedora hat. To the right and behind the girls, African American boys and men sit against the wall wearing suits. On the center farthest right in the photograph stands a white man in a suit by a table with a basketball on it.

An unidentified group of well-dressed six African American women, three African American men, three boys and a teenaged girl as they stand or sit in the yard by the porch of a clapboard house behind them. The house has a trellis with ivy growing on it behind them. There is an enclosed balcony above the group on the second story.

Girls exercise on the grounds of Western Seminary

Description
Twelve African American teenage girls exercise outdoors on the grounds of the Western Baptist Seminary, 2119 Tracy Avenue in Kansas City, Missouri. Every other girl in the two rows either holds her arms out straight with her legs together or holds her hands together above her head with her legs apart. All of the girls wears skirts or dresses, anklet socks, and flat shoes. There are many trees behind them. "Williams KC.MO #3541" is printed in white handwriting script on the bottom right corner.

A group photograph of unidentified African American students and teacher standing in rows on the steps of Lincoln High School in Kansas City, Missouri. Two of the boys wear uniforms. Description
Twenty five African American teenage girls are outdoors forming a line by each one subsequently sitting in the lap of the person behind them on the grounds of the Western Baptist Seminary, 2119 Tracy Avenue in Kansas City, Missouri. Most girls wear dresses or skirts but there are four girls wearing pants. There is a residential area behind them as trees directly behind the line. "Williams KC.MO #3549" is printed in white handwriting script on the bottom right corner.
