An unidentified white woman tends to a wagon with three wheels with a large bin loaded on it. Another two-wheeled cart with another large bin sitting on it is to her right. There is a rock wall behind her with slots formed into the wall. A roof that extends from the rock wall is held up with large beams.

An African American female instructor with thirteen African American female students sitting at desks with typewriters and stationery at Western Baptist Seminary, 2119 Tracy Avenue in Kansas City, Missouri. The instructor stands in the back left corner of the room. Samples of work are along the back wall. The students sit at the typewriter tables either typing or studying shorthand. Some of the typewriters are Lindenwood, Remington, and Royal typewriters.
