A group photograph of African-American and white women looking down at their work while quilting in a room together as part of the African American Women's Missionary Union's annual workday of the Western Baptist Seminary, 2119 Tracy Avenue in Kansas City, Missouri. The white women sit to the left and the African American women sit to the right with a stack of quilts in the center of the room. Most women sit on ladder back chairs.
