A group photograph of African-American and white women looking down at their work while quilting in a room together as part of the African American Women's Missionary Union's annual workday of the Western Baptist Seminary, 2119 Tracy Avenue in Kansas City, Missouri. The white women sit to the left and the African American women sit to the right with a stack of quilts in the center of the room. Most women sit on ladder back chairs. The four windows to the left are floor to ceiling. There is a man's portrait above the door at the back. There is a dark shiny curtain hanging across the back wall. The ceiling is pressed tin.

Six unidentified African American men in graduation caps and gowns stand in a line on graduation day, probably at Western Baptist Seminary, 2119 Tracy Avenue in Kansas City, Missouri. As these are older gentlemen, they are either five professors or five graduate students and one professor as the man on the farthest rights has advanced degree cap, gown and hood. The man in the center also has a hood.
