He wears a derby hat slanted slightly to one side, a dark suit jacket with a kerchief in the breast pocket; a light colored double breasted buttoned vest over a likely white shirt and necktie. He wears a watch chain from the 'V' in the vest to this watch pocket.

Two African American soldiers shake hands at a table as one hands the other a trophy. The soldier handing the trophy over has a shoulder patch from the 5th Army - A5 patch. Several bottles of soft drinks sit on the table in front of them. A woman's face is mostly out of the photograph on the right side. Other people can be seen sitting around the two soldiers.

Description

A band sits on stage likely playing jazz at the Jockey Club, 10th and Paseo in Kansas City, Missouri. Farthest to the left is Bill Jones playing drums as he wears sunglasses. In front of Bill and to his left is a seated unidentified sax player blowing into his alto saxophone. To his left in the center of the stage is an unidentified bass player with his head slightly bent forward but his eyes looking up straight at the photographer. Behind the bass player and to his left is William Fisher playing the piano and looking out between the piano and the lifted lid. In front of William Fisher and slightly to his left is an unidentified seated trumpet player blowing into his horn. Around the edge of the stage is a scalloped stage decoration of two horse heads facing each other with a jockey's cap in between them. On the door to the back right there is a "J" over a "C" logo on the window to indicated the Jockey Club.
