Description
An unidentified African American man and a boy stand on either side of a stump lying on its side, holding it steady. Another unidentified African American man pushes one side of a two-man crosscut saw already a quarter-way through the stump. The man using the saw looks over his left shoulder at the photographer. A rotting barn is behind the group.

From left to right, Lucky Wesley (bass, leader), Albert "Coots" Dye (piano), Arthur Jackson (alto and tenor sax), L.C. "Speedy" Huggins (vocals), and Wallace Lee Jones (drums). The bottom left corner photo show three women at a counter wearing hats. The photograph along the top shows two African American men shopping on one side of the counter as the African American personnel help them look at the goods.
